Russia Asked Apple to Remove Telegram from App Store Again: Digital Resistance Clash Goes On

NEW YORK - May 29, 2018 - PRLog -- Soon after Iran's governor Alaeddin Boroujerdi announce the blockade of Telegram, the application has banned in Russia. The ban took place in Russia Federation due to refusal to grant access to encryption keys of the application by Pavel Durov. About 1.5 million IP address has blocked by government and many websites, socks5 services and VPN services has been banned from Russia due to providing access to the application.

According to How to Chat Online, Russian government also asked APK Mirror, Play Store, Windows Store and App Store to remove the application, however almost all stores refused to request.

After all those actions by Russian government, Durov has started Digital Resistance movement. He donated socks5 and VPN providers with bitcoins and he joined a protesting in Moscow which took place 30th April 2018. Digital Resistance movement already has been a trend topic on Twitter with #digitalresistance hashtag.

Russian government couldn't stop their citizens to reach to the application due to worldwide support to Telegram. A few reliable source has told that, the some Russian governors has started heavy pressure against Apple to remove app from App Store recently.
