The Birmingham Arena track was built in 1991 and served as the competition track of the Indoor World Athletics Championships in 2003. The portable banked system is set up at least once a year in the arena for national and international athletics events. Following each event, the system is dismantled and stored. After 27 years of use, the track and structure are still in perfect condition and are ready to be center stage at the upcoming championships.
