Many books have been written on the central characters of the Ramayana such as Rama, Sita, Laxman, etc., but there is hardly any literary piece on Mandodari. She is often described as a pious and righteous royal lady who loved her husband and advised him to follow the path of righteousness. Her love and loyalty to Ravana are praised in the Ramayana. Mandodari was an extremely loyal and faithful wife to Ravana. She loved him despite his flaws and corrupt actions that she disagreed with. She tried her best to make a better person out of him, which was extremely admirable and brave. She was a beautiful woman and a fascinating lady whose story deserves to be told. The author has been quite successful in expressing Mandodari's emotions, which help the readers understand what she had gone through in living her life.

Her life events are not only restricted to this, but she also has many other stories that are yet to be heard. Through this book, the author has decided to narrate an unconventional tale based on various mythological incidents. It takes the readers through the various significant life events of Mandodari by unfolding stories about her parents, her childhood, her relationship with Ravana, her children, her ideologies, etc. It also talks about the defeat of Ravana, in the battlefield where she was molested in front of the entire army. Her body was covered in scars thus facing the brunt of her husband's deeds.

The Ramayana has portrayed Ravana as a jealous, lustful and selfish demon but he also had another side.He is referred to as a loser because he lost the battle with Rama, but was it an ethical battle wherein he was murdered? Mandodari, his closest associate, breaks her silence and shares an untold version of the epic.
