By: Jennique Consulting Despite the fact that more women are getting to the centre stage across different fields, gender parity still remains a pertinent issue. To address this and forge a roadmap to allow women compete effectively in the corporate world, the first edition of The Roundtable Series in 2018 will be held in commemoration of the International Women's Day, a global event that celebrates the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. In line with the global theme for the year, #PressForChange, the objective of this event is to create awareness of how we can make a difference for women through shared and collective action across several fields and age groups. Our goal is for women to be adequately equipped to press for change using the right strategies and building the right skill set. To allow participants gain the most from the event, there will be a keynote speech and a panel discussion which will be stirred towards highlighting the importance of value communication and strategic negotiation in narrowing the wage gap as opposed to clamouring for the increase in pay on the basis of gender alone. This panel discussion has been aptly titled, Value vs Price: Narrowing the Wage Gap. We will explore how women from all walks of life can contribute to the economic advancement of women through shared and collective action. To adequately discuss these issues during the panel discussion, panellists will focus on the following areas; • Strategic Negotiation. • Emotional Intelligence. • Value Creation through knowledge acquisition. • Exiting: Saying NO without drama To achieve our objective to fully equip women with the relevant knowledge they need to use value creation as a means of achieving gender parity, we have selected Mrs Udo Okonjo of Fine and Country West Africa as the Keynote Speaker for the event. Below are some of the panellists who will further enlighten the women present on the topics listed above; • Chinyere Okorocha, Partner at Jackson, Etti and Edu LLC • Ngozi Utchay Princewill, CEO of Artelier • Chizor Malize, CEO Brandzone LLC For further information regarding The Roundtable Series, you can contact Adedoyin Jaiyesimi, 09093308369.
