This event's "on Track" with their Train shuttle and wine tasting
The 21st annual Mount Dora Spring Festival adds a free Train ride and blueberry wine tasting to it's event line up.
Visit Mount Dora, the organization that owns the event with the mission to bring people to the streets of the historic district expects a record turn out with its decision last year to turn the event into a juried show of hand craft exhibitors.
Janet Gamache, Visit Mount Dora's special event coordinator, says, "Due to the high demand and better response to quality hand crafted products, we have carefully selected the exhibitors in 2018 and will only allow a select few buy/sell vendors who will be clustered together near the food court to separate them from the 200 plus fun and eclectic crafters and artists."
With higher attendance in a small town, parking can be a challenge. Getting to the event will be easier than ever with the addition of a new Train shuttle provided by Orlando and Northwestern Railway from Mount Dora Plaza at 2700 W Old US Hwy 441. The fee is $10 to park but the train ride is FREE and will drop visitors off in the center of the event. It will run from 9am to 6pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Free shuttle service will also be provided by the City of Mount Dora at Lincoln Park located at 1200 N. Unser St. and Mount Dora Golf Club located at 1100 S.Highland St, Mt Dora, FL 32757.
Wine tasting will be available on Donnelly St featuring blueberry wine made by Island Grove Winery as a tease for the upcoming Mount Dora Blueberry Festival that is scheduled for April 28 & 29, 2018 in Evans Park. Beer and wine will also be available at stations in the event for visitors to purchase and walk around with while browsing the booths.
A free kid zone with bounce house will also be available for the kids in Sunset Park. There will be face painting, temporary tattoos and the human hamster wheel snow cone maker available for a small fee in the same area.
The Mount Dora Spring Festival is a family friendly two-day, open-air event. Attendance is FREE. Due to the high volume of attendees, only service dogs are allowed at the event.
Bring the family, wear comfortable shoes, and get ready to shop 'til you drop! The show runs Sat, March 17 and Sun, March 18, 2017 from 9AM-5PM. www.MountDoraSpringFest.com
