Dream Foundation – Amedisys Foundation Partnership to Fulfill 100th Dream

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Feb. 21, 2018 - PRLog -- Through a corporate partnership formed in 2016, Dream Foundation, the only national dream-granting organization for terminally-ill adults, and the Amedisys Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Amedisys, Inc., one of the nation's leading home health care, hospice and personal care companies, celebrate the fulfillment of the partnership's 100^th Dream.

The recipient of the partnership's 100^th Dream is 77-year-old, Navy Veteran, George Bennett, a patient of Amedisys Hospice in Shreveport, La. George dreamed of hosting a final family barbecue at his home, but due to his health limitations, he was unable to do so on his own. Bettye Tuminello, George's hospice social worker, contacted Dream Foundation for assistance in making George's Dream a reality. "They [George and Marie] are the sweetest couple I have ever met," Tuminello said. "I'm not surprised George chose this as his final Dream—he wants to share it with his family."

After only four months of dating, Marie and George were married 52 years ago. Marie told Dream Foundation about their incredible love story. "After our second date, I knew he was the one," said Marie. "If [George] knew I was going to be okay, he would let go. He is holding on for me."

Thanks to the partnership between Dream Foundation and the Amedisys Foundation, George and his wife, Marie, will enjoy a barbecue at their home Saturday, February 24, and will enjoy the company of 40 family members and friends as they dine on George's favorite barbecue food – ribs.   Special guests will include George and Marie's three sons and daughter from Houston, Texas, George's brother and two sisters from Beaumont, Texas, cousins, nieces, nephews and the couple's very best friends.
