Malcolm Barrett Gets Bashed By Marshall Barnes For Pretending To Have Time Travel Physics Expertise

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. - Feb. 20, 2018 - PRLog -- As NBC's Timeless prepares for its 2nd season premiere, internationally noted R&D engineer and world's top time travel expert, Marshall Barnes, strikes at Malcolm Barrett who plays Rufus Carlin, the show's time machine pilot, for acting as if he has expert knowledge of time travel physics. In a fact filled, brutal analysis of Barrett's appearance on the podcast, Only Stupid Answers, with hosts, Sam Bashor and DJ Wooldridge, Marshall destroys Barrett's credibility, revealing how repeatedly Barrett misquotes and mispronounces theories and names of people in time travel science.

"It is so painfully obvious Malcolm Barrett's done no research at all on the subject, just a quick study of terms used by others who think they know what they're talking about, he needs to be slapped the next time he actually makes it sound as if he has any expertise to warrant opening his pie hole on time travel."

The article is filled with video clips and plenty of embedded links to facts and data, so there's no question that Marshall is hitting the nail on the head.

One of the interesting things revealed is the similarity between the Rufus Carlin character's job and what Marshall does in real life.

"Here's the deal - I actually am a published, quantum physics studied, R&D engineer (in fact just quoted recently in an article on artificial intelligence) who works on time travel physics with the intent to make time travel a reality and have made the biggest breakthroughs toward that goal, along with Rainer Plaga, Yakir Aharonov, John Archibald Wheeler and others that Barrett's probably never heard of. In fact, I wrote the first and probably only document, for select members of Congress, in real life that, within the context of Timeless, would've kept Homeland Security from shutting the time travel project down for fear that history could be changed. That's right. Let me be very clear - Homeland Security wouldn't be allowing Mason Industries to develop time travel without some assurances that no one could go back in time and change elections because it wouldn't be physically possible in the first place."

"So the bottom line is, I am, and do for real, what Malcom's character does on that show, sans the actual time travel, at least.", Marshall writes.

Marshall points out the problem with people understanding time travel is physicists aren't working on real life solutions and people, who have no business talking about it, spread false and misleading information.

"In other words, this trio represents exactly why I wrote my article for Futurism.media, Time Travel To The Past Is Almost Here...Because, everything you think you know about it, is WRONG. The key point that I made in the beginning of that article was - 'the problem is that the greater majority of it is highly inaccurate and outdated theories that have been rehashed for decades. These stories are then aimed at, or even perpetrated by members of "geek" culture. So, it ends up as the blind leading the blind.'"

Malcolm Barrett doesn't think time travel will happen, while Marshall has identified a means of creating a time machine, based in part on the work of American Science Medal award winner, Yakir Aharonov and the late John Archibald Wheeler. Marshall says he has only to test one more component before he can build an operational device and it has nothing to do with the theories of relativity, that are often cited, in regards to time travel.

Marshall challenges both Barrett and Timeless co-producer, Shawn Ryan, to a public debate at Comic Con at the end of the article, and he's serious. Marshall has challenged others to debates, usually personalities on Quora.com where he is a leading commentator, who have made bold claims disagreeing with his positions on time travel and they all backed away from the prospect of facing Marshall in front of a live audience. One was even NASA's Robert Shuler who claimed that he was on a "crusade" against such ideas, however when Marshall offered to meet him in a live debate at NASA "in front of all your friends...", Shuler quickly backed down.

"Marshall comes from that tradition of scientists debating each other publicly," PR assistant, David Gap, says. "Einstein debated Niels Bohr, for example. Marshall also is part of that tradition of betting scientists and was the only one in the world in 2008 to publicly come out against Hawking's bet against the Higgs. Of course Marshall won and I think it's his confidence and willingness to face off against an opponent - on their home turf, that scares them off from debating. That, and they sense his knowledge is far greater than theirs. They don't want to face that and lose".

For Marshall, it's very prosaic.

"If Malcolm Barrett and Shawn Ryan feel they know so damn much about time travel, I'll take them both on, live, in front of all their fans at Comic Con. This is no joke. I know how to reach them and they had better accept or they'll never live it down. We all know, from when we were kids, all the names I could call them if they chicken out. I don't have to say them, but if they do balk - they'll both be all those names you can think of - right now."
