Katharine Nester Recognized as a 2018 Woman of Influence

PORTLAND, Ore. - Feb. 19, 2018 - PRLog -- Ruby® Receptionists, the market leader in remote receptionist services dedicated to helping small businesses grow, is proud to announce that Katharine Nester, the company's Chief Product and Technology Officer, has been named a Portland Business Journal's 2018 Women of Influence award winner. Katharine is one of 25 female business leaders recognized for their professional accomplishments, outstanding leadership, and efforts to better the Portland community. The winners will be honored at the Women of Influence Awards Luncheon on April 5^th, 2018, at the Hilton Hotel.

Katharine has carved a unique path in a male-dominated profession and has emerged as a leader in the tech community. She uses her position and influence to encourage women to pursue careers in technology demonstrated by her support of local organizations including PDXWIT, Girls Inc. of the PNW, and serving on the board of App Camp for Girls. Whether it's one-on-one coaching or participating in a more organized event, Katharine plays an active role in strengthening Portland's tech community.

"Growing up I was fortunate to have a father in computer science who encouraged my own interest in the subject. I never doubted a career in technology was an option for me, but not every girl has a support system that inspires them to pursue their dreams," said Katharine. "I'm honored to share this recognition with an amazing group of women who are making a real difference in the lives of those around them. I hope being included among them helps shine a light on the importance of supporting programs that help put more women and diversity in tech."

In its 15^th year, the Portland Business Journal's Women of Influence awards honors women from every industry and profession. The 25 award winners were selected from more than 400 nominations.
