-- The Horror Writers Association proclaims its third annual StokerCon™, located at the Biltmore Hotel in Providence, Rhode Island, from March 1st
This four-day event celebrates the best of the horror genre with superb events, including Horror University, a series of intensive, hands-on writing workshops taught by award-winning and bestselling authors; the Ann Radcliffe Academic Conference, in which academics from around the world present papers related to the horror genre; Librarians' Day, where librarians from around the country consider the role of horror in their collections and network with authors; the Final Frame film competition, featuring astounding short horror films from around the globe; and the iconic Bram Stoker Awards®, the premiere recognition in the horror and dark fantasy field, which will be presented at a gala banquet on Saturday night hosted by famed comedic horror author Jeff Strand.
Guests of Honor at the convention include legendary British writer Ramsey Campbell; Z-Nation
creator Craig Engler; acclaimed author of Agents of Dreamland
Caitlín R. Kiernan; PEN Award finalist (for The Changeling
) Victor LaValle; prolific and renowned author Elizabeth Massie; and Bram Stoker Award®-winning author and Ray Bradbury expert Sam Weller. The convention also includes panels, author readings, a Dealers Room (with local bookseller, Books on the Square, serving as the convention's official bookseller), parties, gaming, and author signings.
