As fixed assets continue to be an important component of many business enterprises, machinery and technical specialties and business valuation appraisers have an especially close working relationship. Business valuation economics can have a significant impact on the value of fixed assets. The impact on the value of an asset of functional and/or economic obsolescence are best measured through the application of the Income Approach to value. Investments in fixed assets are driven by financial returns which are best measured through discounted cash flow models. This requires knowledge of certain finance concepts as well as other information. This presentation will cover a variety of technical issues and recent developments impacting MTS valuations.
