Republican Legislator Ken Miller To Announce Candidacy For Chemung County Executive

ELMIRA, N.Y. - Feb. 8, 2018 - PRLog -- Chemung County Legislator and small business owner Ken Miller will officially enter the race for Chemung County Executive in upstate New York.

Surrounded in every direction by upstate New York's endless natural beauty, Chemung County is set for a grueling contest for the executive seat of government.  The region, draped in lush and fertile lands, rolling hills, rushing rivers, waterfalls and ever changing colors, was once a bustling and thriving economy.

Manufacturing, industry and even celebrity once populated the Chemung region. The elegant city of Elmira was once the destination of Manhattan socialites and was home to author, Mark Twain.  Contemporaries such as Tommy Hilfiger, Astronaut Eileen Collins and even Fox New's own Judge Jeanine Pirro all hailed from Elmira.

But as with much of upstate New York, economic stagnation and depression eventually set in.  The political climate became a reflection of the economic downturn, politicians routinely juggle impossible budgets robbing Peter to pay Paul, residents struggle under extremely high taxes and businesses, creatives and jobs seem to continually leak out of the region like a dripping faucet.
