PORTLAND, Ore. - Feb. 8, 2018 - PRLog -- The North Star: The Emancipation of Frederick Douglass is a dramatic retelling of three pivotal moments in the life of Douglass adapted from memoir The Life and Times of Frederick Douglass by Barron Robert Bell, Ph.D. best known for Radio Free Amerika: Season 1.  The other members of the team include Koi Turnbull, artist for Michael Turner's Fathom and various DC and Marvel comics titles and editor, Robert Jeffrey II creator/writer of the Glyph comics award nominated Route 3 published by Terminus Media LLC.

Mark Stancil, owner of Terminus Media, publisher of the upcoming graphic novel commented, "Truth. Love. Forgiveness. Courage in the face danger and adversity is what the life well lived is all about. That is the life of Frederick Douglass. We created Terminus Media for such a time and story as this!"

"Like John Lewis' March series about the civil rights movement, The North Star will be an excellent way to engage the current generation in a way they'll enjoy while inspiring difficult conversations about how we can learn from our slavery stained past," commented Bell. "Douglass was a slave who believed in the God-given American promise.  Though he fought hard against racial injustice, he also showed great strength to forgive his former slave owners.  These are lessons that are worth passing along."

Bell and his team plan on marketing directly to schools, libraries, and community organizations. The official book will be released in Fall 2018. To place a pre-order, please go to:
