St. Andrews-Covenant Presbyterian Church To Install Reverend Derek Macleod As Head Pastor

The Reverend Dr. Richard Boyce, Academic Dean of Union Presbyterian Seminary in Charlotte, will serve as guest preacher. The Reverend Dr. Ann B. Jahnes, former associate pastor at St. Andrews-Covenant and now Pastor/Head of Staff at Southport Presbyterian Church, will give the charge. The public is welcome to attend.
Reverend Macleod comes to St. Andrews-Covenant Presbyterian Church from Myers Park Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, where he served as an associate pastor for outreach and mission. He was born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and earned his undergraduate degree from Dalhousie University in Halifax. He obtained his Master of Divinity from Knox College, University of Toronto, where he received the Walter Allum preaching award. Upon his ordination, Reverend Macleod served as Solo Pastor of Briarwood Presbyterian Church in Beaconsfield, Quebec, then as Senior Pastor of Glenview Presbyterian Church in Toronto, Ontario, before being called to Myers Park Presbyterian Church. Reverend Macleod is married to Catherine Chappell and they have three daughters.

St. Andrews-Covenant Presbyterian Church is part of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and The Presbytery of Coastal Carolina. It was formed on June 1, 1944 as a merger of two existing congregations:
