Follow on Google News | Writers Continue Recyclables Fundraiser; Announce Release Date for New BookWriters work with a thrift shop to collect recyclables as part of a fundraiser; and have chosen a fall 2018 publication date for their new anthology.
By: Writers Resource Center "We're very happy to announce the release date for the anthology, a collection of fiction, non-fiction and poetry manuscripts written by people who have gone through, or are going through, our Developing Authors Series," says WRC Founder Janie P. Bess. "And there is still time for new writers to be included; we hope local authors and ones from throughout Northern California will come and get involved." The group has received dozens of bags of recyclables since January, and would like to collect many more before its fundraising deadline later this month. It is working with a local thrift shop that supports nonprofits by paying a small stipend for each pound of donated goods. Items should be placed in a 13-to-33 gallon size kitchen garbage bag and brought to the meeting. The group's goal is to collect enough bags, at least 109, to fill-up a large truck or van. Anyone unable to attend should call 707-290-5390 to make other arrangements for drop-off. Saturday's seminar will also include lecture, group discussion, writing exercises and homework. Attendees should bring their own writing materials or devices and come ready to participate. Space is limited; please arrive early for best seating.
