Data consumption to drive TMT financing growth in Asia in 2018, says SMBC
By: TMT Finance
"M&A and capex investment will continue to drive the majority of financing activities of traditional telecom players such as mobile and fixed line telecom operators, pay-TV companies, enterprise businesses and towercos in Asia for 2018. However, as data consumption and digital transformation continues to accelerate, the increase of data traffic will drive the need for public cloud and building data centres, towers and fibre assets." Commented Gupta. "For a global bank like SMBC, the TMT sector is a key area of growth throughout Asia and we're working closely with a number of telcos, towercos, data centres and others to raise funds through structured financing."
Gupta, who has extensive experience in TMT sector advising clients and arranging transactions in Asia covering M&A advisory, acquisition finance, project finance, debt capital markets and equity capital markets, will be providing insights on the TMT financing environment, investment and growth opportunities on the Financing TMT session at TMT Finance Asia 2018 in Singapore on February 1. The annual event gathers the region's key senior executives from telecom, media and technology companies, private equity and venture capital firms, investment banks, law firms and advisory companies, to assess new growth and investment opportunities. http://www.tmtfinance.com/
