Bridgestone Multimedia Group presents WICKED SPRING
LANSING, Mich. - Feb. 1, 2018 - PRLog -- American actor/writer/filmmaker DJ Perry's first newspaper exposure came when the semi-shy toddler with a cowboy hat refused an interview at some local Lansing event. His childhood was filled with family vacations to Civil War battlegrounds and trips to now-gone western amusement parks like Stagecoach Stop in Irish Hills and Ghost Town in the Sky in Maggie Valley. The latter theme park will play a part in this child's future endeavors. DJ's childhood television watching was filled with a steady diet of Gunsmoke, Bonanza, John Wayne and Clint Eastwood movies. DJ's path led him down the storytelling trail by way of motion picture.

By the year 2000 DJ had partnerships both in Collective Development Inc. (CDI) based in Lansing, Michigan and a sister company Lionheart Filmworks, based out of Virginia. With Lionheart partner/director Kevin R. Hershberger and CDI producers Anthony Hornus, Curtis Hall and Dean Teaster, Perry produced and co-starred in the Civil War action/drama 'Wicked Spring" with wonderful results. An artistic character study that has truly become a classic for those interested in America's most bloody war. A classroom favorite of history teachers where much of the praise comes because of the simplicity of the story layered with a complex, in-depth look at the toll war takes on the average soldier versus generals and the elite. When Hershberger and Perry parted ways, Perry traded his stock in Lionheart Filmworks for Hershberger and Lionheart's holding in the film.

A handful of years later the team at Collective Development Inc. next produced the smoky mountain western "Dean Teaster's Ghost Town" in Maggie Valley, NC at the famous Ghost Town in the Sky park that DJ had visited as a child. The gritty tale of family revenge was released by Lionsgate and was the #1 western rental for 7 weeks and remained in the top ten for 17 weeks. It reunited the two villain-mountain men from "Deliverance" Herbert Cowboy Coward and Bill McKinney, once voted the 'Top Screen Villains of All Time' for their terrifying performance.  (Maxim)

After producing a string of films in various genre, Collective Development Inc. filmed another powerful 1800's story in Michigan. "Wild Faith" tells the story of a troubled Civil War soldier trying to return to 'normal' life after experiencing horrific events during the war.  The theatrical run in Michigan is set to launch in the Spring 2018.

Now 18 years after the first 35mm cameras rolled in Virginia, "Wicked Spring" is being re-released. Bridgestone Multimedia Group has digitally re-mastered the film. It will also be released with a "Making of" on the DVD. Towards the end of the year CDI plans to release a Blu-Ray into the market. "Wicked Spring" will release to digital on 2/5/18 and to DVD on 3/5/18 on Amazon and several other platforms and retail sites.

Watching the film now one realizes that the breathtaking film shot masterfully by Stephen M. Lyons hasn't missed a beat. The messages woven throughout the story seems strangely even more relevant today, in light of the events unfolding in our world. The film's re-release celebrates the passing of the 150th anniversary of the Civil War.  "Wicked Spring" has already become a favorite to many around the world and with the upcoming wider re-release a new generation of audiences can enjoy the story. This will be the first major re-release of the film. The deal was made by CDI Distribution and is releasing with Bridgestone Multimedia Group.

Collective Development Inc.'s CEO DJ Perry is currently in talks with various third parties about a Michigan-based TV series entitled 'Hastings' that will follow the "Wild Faith" feature. This particular time period in US history is something that CDI seems to enjoy and excel at. Future audiences will surely see additional content produced in this wonderful genre by Collective Development.

Happy Trails!
