Local Eagle Transmission Shop helps Meals on Wheels

ROWLETT, Texas - Jan. 30, 2018 - PRLog -- It was called Meals Up for Meals on Wheels, and it feed over 70 Senior Citizens via Meals on Wheels of Rockwall County.

Don Perry, owner of the Eagle Transmission franchise in Rowlett, Texas came up with the idea. "I was trying to think of a way we could help during the holidays, so I figured, what better way to help than to help out Meals on Wheels."  Mr. Perry added, "We are very fortunate and it is the right thing to give back".

The program lasted the month of December, and Eagle Transmissions Rowlett pledged to buy a meal every-time they put a car on the lift for a service.

Margie Verhagen, the Executive Director for Meals on Wheels of Rockwall County was thankful for the donation as were the other members of her staff. Ms. Verhagen stated that "It is because of contributions like this that we can continue to feed the Seniors in need".

The mission of Meals on Wheels - Rockwall County is to keep the elderly and disabled citizens of Rockwall County living in their homes as long as safely possible through supportive services, nutritious meals and daily human contact.
