Based in Southern California's San Gabriel Valley, The Valley FC begins UPSL play in the Western Conference Championship Division.

The Valley FC President/General Manager Gustavo Portillo, Jr. said, "You can see how well-structured the league is with its connections the U.S. Amateur Cups and the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. It's a great way to get started at the Pro Development level, with the UPSL's setup as a Promotion/Relegation league it's the best league for us."

Ty Otto, Founder and President of Oxnard Guerreros (NPSL), has an ownership stake in The Valley FC.

"Ty has been my mentor and taught me a lot about what it take to get a team off the ground," Portillo, Jr., said. "He's been all for this since Day 1 and we're hoping to bring something viable to our community the way he has with his club."

Albert Torres, a former collegiate player at Glendora (Calif.)'s Citrus College, will serve as the team's Head Coach. Currently the Head Athletic Trainer at Pomona's Diamond Ranch High School, Torres, 27, holds an Masters' Degree in Kinesiology from Azusa Pacific University.

The club has played three preseason friendlies, including a recent win over L.A. Roma FC (UPSL), and will be hosting open tryouts at Soccer Center Pomona (2255 S. Garey Ave., Pomona, CA 91766) from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3.
