Despite Oversaturation, Siteturner Releases Two More Free WordPress Themes

Why add to the glut of interchangeable blog themes already available for the WordPress platform? Siteturner's marketing director Joseph Rust struggles for an answer.

NEW YORK - Jan. 29, 2018 - PRLog -- "It's puzzling," says Joseph Rust of Siteturner. "There's enough of these things out there already. They all do the same thing. Why are we making more?"

Siteturner, launched in 2014, started out as a developer of premium WordPress themes, but eventually rebranded into a development and review blog in 2015 following disappointing sales. Recently the company released two free blog themes, TechNerd and Shale.

"TechNerd was inspired by a couple popular tech blogs," says Rust, "and Shale, I guess, was partly modeled after a political blog of some kind. Maybe Salon. I can't remember."

The themes are standard fair, and about what you'd expect from a small developer: basic, fully functional, aesthetically pleasing blog themes. They were both carefully designed, expertly coded, and vetted by WordPress.org (where the files currently reside). But why do they exist?

"Listen, why does anything free exist on the internet? It's promotional," admits Rust. He sighs. "I could tell you it's because we love WordPress, or because we want to give back to the community, or whatever. Is that what you want to hear?"

"We need backlinks. We're desperate for backlinks."

TechNerd and Shale, in addition to Siteturner's other free themes, can be downloaded at http://siteturner.com/category/themes/
