From The Streets, To The Stage, To The Studio... The ZYG 808 Steps Into the MC Business
When a child prodigy jazz percussionist brings his lyrical skills to the table, the new generation of the MC game is about to get interesting... The ZYG 808 announced his upcoming, debut project at Pre-Grammy Launch party in New York City.

The ZYG 808 announced the upcoming release of his hip-hop projects and the launch of his own Soul Poet's imprint at a recent Pre-Grammy Launch Party in New York City, hosted by UBC-TV. He also moved the crowd with a little acapella taste of his lyrical style to the packed house at Taj II Lounge.
A spoken-word artist and trained performer, with a healthy respect and admiration for the forebears of MCing, such as Rakim, Slick Rick, Eric Sermon, Red Man, as well as some of the contemporaries like Hopsin, J Cole,
Aside from his post as the percussionist and MC with The GroovaLottos, The ZYG 808 first came to national attention as a part of the Soul Poet's Syndicate's who released the single "FLIPPIN" an anti-opioid anthem related to the opioid crisis that is particularly devastating to the Native American populations. The music video is soon to be released. The ZYG 808, began MCing in middle school with his cousin JJNice. With hip-hop The ZYG 808 found that his background in jazz, immense vocabulary, and sense of humor served him well as a lyricist and MC. Under the banner of JJNice's project TMK Squad, The ZYG 808 appears on several of the groups mixtape cuts.
In 2017, at the Gathering Of Nations Powwow, The ZYG 808 debuted as a full-fledged member of The GroovaLottos as the band's percussionist. During the band's summer street concert tour - The Phunk Hits- he truly pulled in crowds as he rapped and played drums at the same time.
