Follow on Google News | New Book Festival opens in OklahomaStroud Arts Book Festival has begun to take submissions for their first annual Book Festival to be held in Stroud, Oklahoma.
By: Stroud Arts This year Stroud Arts have organized their first Annual Book Festival. It is designed to assist writers in all genres to expand their presence in the communities. They take submissions, year-round, into a grading service which then grades the work for three possible literary awards, Bronze, Silver, and Gold. This will give the writer a chance to earn an award and become known as an "Award Winning Author". Not only that, but they take all the Gold Awarded Writers and automatically enter them into a competition which takes place at their Book Festival at no additional fees to the writer. They give them a free table during a book signing event to sell and showcase their work, an opportunity to present their project in front of an audience, and a free pass during the festival to all the events. Also, they are given a chance to win in their genre to receive another award of Best of Genre. To cap it off, they take all the Best of Genre awarded Writers and enter them in another competition for their coveted Stroud Arts Literary Master Award and still with no further fees. This is astounding in these days and time to offer so much for so little to the community. While they do require a one-time donation of $25.00 to their organization, explaining that a donation to their organization keeps the bills paid, it is a value-packed concept which can only further the Arts in Oklahoma. The Festival is scheduled for November 15th-17th, 2018, in Stroud, Oklahoma. The writer is not required to be there to receive their award(s). There will be a number of events such as an afternoon of book signings, featured speakers, book readings, project showcasing such as cookbooks and comics, script presentations, award ceremonies, and much more... The Executive Directors are Author/Director/ Guy Lozier, one of Stroud Arts Board Members, currently has 9 published books with two found in Hardback format. He has directed and produced dozens of film projects to date. He is scheduled for a number of appearances across Oklahoma this year including being a featured guest at the Red Dirt International Film Festival in Stillwater the end of March, a featured author scheduled for autographs at Gardner's Used Books in Tulsa in February, a featured author performing a book reading with autographs at the Stroud Arts Open House the end of January in Stroud, a featured author scheduled for autographs at Barnes and Noble in Tulsa during April, along with several others unscheduled at this time. Damon Blalak currently is the Founder and Executive Director of the Red Dirt International Film Festival. Damon is currently in Belfast finishing his Doctorate. He has directed and produced a number of film projects over the years including a couple of tv shows. This is a no-brainer for writers.
