About the Author

Legendary helicopter pilot Captain Bill Collier has done it all! He flew helicopters in Vietnam for the United States Marine Corps, rescuing about 375 wounded Marines from the field, earning a raft of medals including a Purple Heart. He then flew for the air arm of the Central Intelligence Agency, AIR AMERICA in Laos. He piloted his aircraft on many dangerous and challenging missions to support the ethnic Hmong people in their fight to repel the red tide of Communist aggression that threatened their country and their very lives.

Afterwards he continued to fly helicopters worldwide, which took him to Alaska several times, Saudi Arabia, the South Pacific, California and Tennessee. There is no job that a helicopter can do that he has not done.

Retired to North Idaho, he is busy completing the third book of his trilogy about the rest of the story. He also acquired and is restoring a vintage H-34 helicopter that he bought off e-bay. The H-34 is his favorite helicopter to fly because he flew various versions of it for more than 4,000 hours.
