Follow on Google News | BlazeSports America Hosts 2nd Annual Big Peach Slam JamWheelchair basketball invitational tournament to take place at LakePoint Sporting Community, Saturday 1/28 - Sunday 1/29!
More than 160 youth wheelchair basketball athletes, from sixteen different teams representing eleven different states will be competing. Athletes range in age from six to nineteen years old. The BlazeSports Big Peach Slam Jam tournament is sanctioned by the National Wheelchair Basketball Association, (NWBA) and will include seven of the top twelve NWBA nationally ranked Varsity teams and two of the top five nationally ranked Prep teams. "We're extremely excited to host our 2nd Annual BlazeSports Big Peach Slam Jam at the beautiful LakePoint facility, and provide an incredible weekend of competitive sport with some of the top youth wheelchair basketball athletes in the United States," said BlazeSports America Executive Director Cynthia Frisina. "BlazeSports America proudly hosts annual competitions like this one, and other adaptive sports programs throughout the year giving athletes with physical disabilities the opportunity to be part of a team and compete like their able-bodied peers. We're thrilled to host this tournament for the second year in a row based on growing demand for adaptive sport competitions like these." The BlazeSports Big Peach Slam Jam kicks-off on Saturday, January 27 at 8:30am with the first round of Varsity games followed by Prep games at 9am. The tournament resumes on Sunday, January 28 at 8am and is expected to continue into the early afternoon with the championship game. The BlazeSports Big Peach Slam Jam is free to the public.
