SNGC college largely serves students from the M-East ward slum area in Chembur, Mumbai. The M-East Ward of Chembur registers the lowest Human Development Index (HDI) in the city and therefore, the college caters to students who not only come from an underprivileged background, but also are the first generation learners in their family. Through this collaboration, TISS and SNGC College have endeavour to create a sustainable social transformation in the region.
The NUSSD Programme of TISS is being successfully implemented in more than 200 colleges across 5 states in India.
