The Castle Rock Community Comes Together to Benefit the Parrish Family

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Jan. 17, 2018 - PRLog -- On December 31, 2017 tragedy stuck the Douglas County Sheriff's Department and the Castle Rock Police Department when Deputy Zack Parrish was ambushed and killed, and three other deputies were shot. In the law enforcement community, when tragedy strikes, those who serve rally together to take care of their own, and the Castle Rock Police Officers Association (CRPOA) did exactly that by reaching out to Fort Collins based Proforma Big Dog Branding.

With the help of local business man, Chris Morrissey, Owner of Proforma Big Dog Branding, the Castle Rock Police Officers Association has started a fundraiser in honor of the fallen deputy, Zack Parrish. The fundraiser will benefit the Parrish family during this trying time for them.

"My brother is a Corporal in the Castle Rock Police Department, and he had actually trained with Zack when he was fresh out of the academy. They were good friends. When I heard of his passing I felt obligated to step in and help the CRPOA with whatever they needed," said Morrissey.

Morrissey assisted the CRPOA with designing the shirts and sweatshirts that are being sold for the fundraiser, and he assisted with opening the online store where the merchandise is being sold. Since its launch on January 3, the fundraiser has generated over $67,000 in sales.

"I wanted to make sure that the CRPOA owned everything that went into this project so that all the money would go directly into the fundraiser. In these types of tragic events, we must all come together to do what we can for others without concern or desire for personal gain. By no means does this small gesture repay the Parrish family for what Zack gave to our Colorado community, but at least it's a starting point," said Morrissey.
