Rica Mendes of Yaffa Beauty by Rica will create runway looks on 5 live models, run a live demo of Manic Panic Professional hair color for stylists and guests to enjoy, and much more on Wednesday, January 31 at 6:30 pm at the Oakdale Theatre, 95 South Turnpike Road, Wallingford, CT 06492! A full three hours of local entertainment, RAW Connecticut offers monthly collaborative art showcases that allow you to meet the artists and experience their artwork up close.

Mendes, who opened Yaffa Beauty by Rica at Salons by JC in Norwalk, CT just a year ago, will share her collection, "GODDESSES" at RAW Connecticut. Inspired by powerful elements, and strong women, the hair, makeup and accessory looks express Mendes' creativity, talent for color and passion for hair and makeup.

"I am so honored to participate in the RAW Artist program here and in Austin, TX the next day. It's the only art show that includes hair and makeup arts equally with fashion and visual artists. We are no longer part of the backstage crew, instead, we are out in the open," Mendes explains. "As an Educator with Manic Panic Professional, I'm so excited to share the new line with the public by allowing attendees to create their own art on hair extensions for them to take home and wear." Additionally, Mendes will be selling handmade jewelry and crystal hair pieces featuring semi-precious stones and glass.

RAW Connecticut is an independent art organization FOR artists BY artists and they produce artist showcases on a regular basis across the county.
