February 2 at 8 pm (Friday) Orlando Transit Authority: Chicago Tribute ** Chicago is a rock-infused, horn-driven musical powerhouse that has inspired generations of professional musicians over the last 40 years. Some of the very best of those musicians found their way to central Florida and came together to form Orlando Transit Authority, a high-energy Chicago tribute show made up of A-list players. OTA emulates every stylistic nuance of the Chicago sound, both vocally and instrumentally, and offers a "tribute within a tribute" to the group that was indirectly responsible for Chicago's success: Blood, Sweat and Tears. From the soulful vocals to the technical mastery of the horn solos, OTA Tickets start at $26 February 9 at 8 pm (Friday) Live from Laurel Canyon ** Live From Laurel Canyon ~ Songs & Stories of American Folk Rock is a 90-minute journey through a very special time in American popular music. A time when an entire generation of youth felt abandoned by their own culture and were searching for a sound that helped define them; a sound that shared the protest and awareness of folk music and the attitude and look of rock music. Back in 1965, based on the success of California Dreamin', The Mamas & The Papas all took up residence in the Canyon, starting a movement of artists, both aspiring and successful, to be a part of this community including the Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, the Doors, Crosby, Stills, and Nash, Neil Young, James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, Carole King, Jackson Browne, Linda Ronstadt, America, and the Eagles Tickets start at $28 February 10 at 8 pm (Saturday) The Temptations & The Four Tops ** For more than 50 years, The Temptations have prospered, propelling popular music with a series of smash hits, and sold-out performances throughout the world. In 1990, with 24 Top 40 pop hits to their credit, The Four Tops were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Though they would no longer have hits on record, the group continued to be a hit in concert, touring incessantly, a towering testament to the enduring legacy of the Motown Sound they helped shape and define. Tickets start at $42 How to Get Tickets: Tickets for all concerts and shows at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts are now available for purchase by calling the Box Office at 954-344-5990 or going online to www.TheCenterCS.com.
