Denis Welch Motorsport Announces Recruitment Drive

Major new investment in advanced manufacturing means more jobs for local candidates

BURTON ON TRENT, U.K. - Jan. 9, 2018 - PRLog -- As a result of a major investment in equipment, Denis Welch Motorsport is currently recruiting skilled staff to programme and operate the specialist CNC machinery. The company is based at Yoxall in the heart of the National Forest and is easily commutable from Burton on Trent, Lichfield, Uttoxeter, Rugeley and Derbyshire.

Two brand new, state of the art; Haas CNC (Computer Numeric Control) machines have been purchased at a cost of more than £250,000. The first, a ST-25Y, is a dedicated CNC lathe featuring a Y-Axis and live tooling system. The second, a UMC-750 is a vertical machining centre designed for 3+2 and full 5-Axis machining. These new machines not only add capacity to an already busy machine shop but will enable more work to be brought in-house which had previously been outsourced. Both were delivered and commissioned in December and are already at work.

This expansion is reflective of the level of innovation in the classic car industry and strength in UK manufacturing. As one of the world's leading historic motorsport specialists, Denis Welch Motorsport have enjoyed over 35 years of success on the track and in development of newly remanufactured parts for Austin Healey, Jaguar E-Type and other historic road and race cars. The business is today the largest supplier of competition parts for these models worldwide.

Jeremy Welch, Managing Director of Denis Welch Motorsport said "Our investment is not just limited to the machines; we're looking to recruit a number of experienced staff to operate the new equipment. I'm very proud that the business continues to support the local economy with these highly skilled roles."

Jeremy added "We led the way nearly 10 years ago when we purchased our first CNC machine at a time when most of our competitors were still manufacturing by hand which is both slow and can lead to inconsistency. I'm delighted to announce this major new investment in our manufacturing capability. The new machines will enable us to produce more parts for historic motorsport and road car applications in-house to a higher standard than ever before".
