FreeOfficeFinder's Office Worker's Social Media Survey sets out to answer these questions, offering up-to-date insight on the key behavioural workplace trends that shape social media use at the office in 2017, including its impact on productivity and the effects of company social media policy on behaviour. Our key findings: - 34% of workers believe social media use makes them more productive while 51% say they're less productive because of it - 84% of office workers have 'stalked' a colleague on social media, and 68% of them say that they think less of a colleague because of something they found on a social network. - Only 33% use social media for less than 30 minutes a day - 23% of all respondents have been disciplined at work for their social media use - 52% cite Facebook as their most frequently used social network Nick Riesel, Managing Director of Free Office Finder comments: "It's clear that social media is becoming an ever more integral part of office life. The challenge for companies is in working out how to harness its potential toward productive business-positive ends. Part of the solution may be updating company policy to make clear to staff what is and is not acceptable use, and providing training sessions that set out clear guidelines as to how to manage your social media profiles so as to not negatively impact on the work environment."
