A new hub for the performing arts has arrived, bringing professional expertise to inspire the next generation of singers, dancers and actors.  The first Kitchener ON location of one of the world's largest performance arts programs will hold a free and interactive open-house on Saturday, January 6th, 2018 from 10:00-11:30am at

Offering quality performance arts training to children aged 4-16, their aim is to nurture, build confidence and develop creative potential; but most importantly to encourage Creative Courage For Life! Stagecoach offers students experience in all three areas of theatrical arts, each class providing exposure and high-quality instruction in the specialized disciplines of singing, acting and dancing. All classes are taught by experienced professionals and culminate in a grand showcase or production at the end of each term.

Helmed by Pierrette LeDrew, a life-long lover of the arts, she is firm believer in the importance and power of movement, play and imagination in the development of children. She incorporates these at home with her own children, and at school with her students. It was as a parent, living in England, that Pierette became involved in the Stagecoach program—her own daughter was a student in Main Stages; she was amazed by the positive impact the program had on her and her school mates. From a shy little girl, she grew into a confident performer who played Storm in a parody of the X-Men series, singing Grease hits in front of a large audience, at 9 years old.  When they relocated to Canada, she was determined to find a similar program for her, but none were available.

Pierrette says of the launch, "I believe that we can learn a lot about others and ourselves through art and that art can influence society and change the world. Through art, children can grow, gain confidence, reach their potential and learn more about themselves and others. At Stagecoach Kitchener-Waterloo, our goal will be to instil our students with the creative courage to embrace life and make the most of their talents and opportunities, nurturing and inspiring them to be the best they can be, on and off stage!"

Stagecoach Performing Arts Kitchener-Waterloo is part of a network of more than 600 part-time Performing Arts Schools Worldwide. Early Stages classes are available for children aged four to six and Main Stages classes take place for six to 18-year olds every Saturday.
