LOS ANGELES - Jan. 3, 2018 - PRLog -- Hip Hop group Tribeca-Grand is motivating social media to take a stand for a cause of their choice with their #TakeAKneeChallenge that runs until January 31. The challenge asks participants to upload an Instagram video of themselves kneeling, explaining their cause and playing the group's song "Take A Knee" in the background.

One winner will be selected in each of the following four categories: Number of Plays, Number of Likes, Number of Comments and Number of Shares and Reposts. The winner of each category wins $250 and will be featured in Tribeca-Grand's "Take A Knee" video to premiere on February 3, 2018. To enter the contest and to read the rules, visit (

The challenge was inspired by Tribeca-Grand's desire to unite people and to create awareness around their song "Take A Knee (" "We wanted to accomplish a few things," Tribeca-Grand says. "The song itself was to remind people of the issue that sparked the movement, which is police brutality. Beyond that, we recognize not everyone relates to that issue, but we felt confident that everyone has an issue they feel as strongly about. We figured if people were able to get their own issue off their chest, the sharing of ideas could foster some empathy for one another."

The group felt affirmed Sunday when they heard comedian Dave Chappelle speak in support of those who take a stand in his new Netflix special. "When we heard Chappelle echo exactly what we were thinking, it was like confirmation from the Gods," Tribeca-Grand says. "We were doing something that needed to be done. To hear that from an icon just hours before we were set to launch was incredible. It also gives us the inspiration for another hashtag #DiscourseNotDiscord."

"Take A Knee" is performing well on college and underground hip hop radio shows, currently holding the No. 5 spot on Nasty Nes's National College Radio Chart The group has also been interviewed on:

• 96.5 Mixtape FM w/ DJ Rasheed
• University of Michigan's WCBN (The Prop Shop w/ DJ Chill Will)
