United Premier Soccer League Announces Nevada Conference Expansion with Summerlin Red Rocks FC

LOS ANGELES - Jan. 3, 2018 - PRLog -- The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is excited to announce Summerlin Red Rocks Football Club as a new member starting with the 2018 Spring Season.

Based in Southern Nevada, Summerlin Red Rocks FC begins UPSL play in the Nevada Conference.

United Premier Soccer League Commissioner Yan Skwara said, "Nevada has always been a stronghold for the UPSL, and we're pleased to welcome Summerlin Red Rocks FC as a new member of the Nevada Conference for 2018. Owner Lamont Harris is stepped into the game and put together a great front office team that is committed to the Pro Development structure and is embracing the UPSL's Pro/Rel Model. We wish Mr. Harris and Summerlin Red Rocks FC the best of luck as they prepare to kick off with the Spring 2018 season."

A resident of Summerlin (Nev.), Lamont Daryl Harris, Jr., 38, owns Summerlin Red Rocks FC. A native of Maryland, Harris was a two-time all-state player in Prince George's County, Md., before moving into the local coaching ranks.

Currently a nationwide mortgage banker with East Coast Capital Corp., Harris, Jr. holds real estate licenses in New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland and California, and was recently named to the 'Top 40 Under 40' African American businessmen in the Las Vegas Valley.

Summerlin Red Rocks FC Owner Lamont Daryl Harris, Jr., said, "The long-term vision of the club is to progress toward building an exciting, competitive atmosphere for our local athletes and those outside of our area that still wish to pursue their dreams of pro soccer. We want to build a special group that truly competes at a high level."

Summerlin FC's Board of Advisors includes Rusty Pierce, 38, the 14th overall selection by the New England Revolution in the 2000 Major League Soccer SuperDraft. A resident of Summerlin, Pierce played eight MLS seasons.

"We would like to make a viable run for the U.S. Open Cup by 2020," Harris, Jr. said. "In pursuit of this vision the club has developed a youth academy program to develop and nurture the talent of tomorrow."

The Summerlin Red Rocks Foundation is a local non-profit dedicated to developing local players from u10 to u16, and also operates an after-school program and a summer sports clinic for underprivileged youth in Las Vegas.

The club currently is finalizing venue options in compliance with UPSL's Minimum Standards. The team soon will announce its upcoming game schedule.
