CHANDLER, Ariz. - Jan. 3, 2018 - PRLog -- Does your book appeal to kids? Does it make learning fun or aim to inspire? If you think you have an award-winning children's book on your hands, check out the Story Monsters Approved! book designation program offered by Story Monsters LLC. A Story Monsters Approved! seal of approval on your book's cover tells teachers, librarians, and parents that they are giving children the very best reading materials.

The Story Monsters Approved! book designation program was developed in 2013 to recognize and honor accomplished authors in the field of children's literature who inspire, inform, teach, or entertain. And the Story Monster continues to grow. Due to the popularity of the program, starting in 2018, it will be offered on an annual basis. Authors can submit their books in 23 distinct categories, which cover a variety of genres and target ages. Program judges include various industry experts with specific knowledge about the categories over which they preside.

"What I love about the Story Monsters Approved! program is that we can help those who are buying books for kids know that any book that is designated as Story Monsters Approved! is truly a quality product for kids to enjoy and learn," said Linda F. Radke, president and founder of Story Monsters LLC. "With expanded categories, our program also helps authors gain instant credibility and attention from the media to reach more teachers, parents and librarians than ever before."

Multiple books in each category will be eligible for the designation as long as the book earns a minimum score of 60 out of 80 points. The newly redesigned program also has expanded its awards to include recognition for Gold Medal Honors and Story Monsters Approved! Book of the Year. Books earning a minimum score of 76 out of 80 points will earn Gold Medal Honors and any book that earns a perfect score of 80 points will be eligible to be named as Story Monsters Approved! Book of the Year. The esteemed Book of the Year designation is judged by a separate panel of judges and is reserved for one book that stands out above the rest. The Book of the Year winner will receive a plaque commemorating their achievement and an advertorial consisting of a featured interview and a full-page ad in Story Monsters Ink® magazine (a $1600 value).

Dr. Dawn Menge, author of the Story Monsters Approved! Queen Vernita's Visitors educational series says, "The Story Monsters Approved! designation and being featured in Story Monsters Ink magazine has added an educational approval to the series that has an international reach. … I look forward to many new opportunities that will arise as the series develops."

The Story Monsters Approved! book designation program is open to children's books and eBooks published in any calendar year. The deadline to enter a book for consideration for the program in 2018 is December 1, 2018. Early bird entries received on or before September 1, 2018 are eligible for a discount on the entry fee. Entry fees and additional submission guidelines apply. For more information and to enter, visit (
