TAMPA, Fla. - Jan. 2, 2018 - PRLog -- Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Properties Group recently completed its annual Cabernet Sleigh drive, a company-wide holiday initiative benefitting Metropolitan Ministries. Driving a truck with the signature cabernet and cream colors of the company, Managing Partners Allen Crumbley and Dewey Mitchell delivered more than seven tons of food (approximately 14,500 pounds), more than $4,000 in gift cards and cash, and more than a thousand gift items to the offices of the local nonprofit.

The popular drive, which takes place throughout the firm's branch offices in the months leading up to the holidays, benefits the thousands of families who are helped by Metropolitan Ministries, a local non-profit that provides food, shelter, resources, counseling, education and job training services to alleviate suffering, promote, dignity and instill self-sufficiency for low-income and homeless families in Tampa Bay.

"This year's Cabernet Sleigh drive was incredibly successful, and the agents and staff from our office were overwhelmed by the number of donations that were received," said Allen Crumbley, Broker/Owner of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Properties Group. "It makes this time of year even more meaningful to see our company and its clients come together in support of local families, and it has been heartwarming to be able to help even more people than we did last year."

In March of 2017, the company was honored with a Unity Award by Metropolitan Ministries for its "proactive services and support" of the organization. In addition to the Cabernet Sleigh drive, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Properties Group participates in donation drives of furniture and household items throughout the year and assists the company through in-kind gifts and volunteering at both its Tampa and Pasco County campuses.

"One of our company goals is to give back to the communities in which we live and work, and we believe strongly in the mission and work of Metropolitan Ministries," said Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Properties Group Broker/Owner Dewey Mitchell. "Our goal for the future is to continue to strengthen our partnership with the organization and provide even more hope for local residents and families."

Metropolitan Ministries is a local, independent nonprofit that provides food, shelter, resources, counseling, education and job training services that alleviate suffering, promote dignity and instill self-sufficiency for low-income and homeless families in Tampa Bay.
