United Premier Soccer League Announces Andres Pena as New Utah Conference Operations Manager

LOS ANGELES - Dec. 28, 2017 - PRLog -- The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is pleased to announce Andres Pena as Utah Conference Operations Manager.

Pena will promote and manage UPSL's Pro Development structure for local teams and new Utah-based clubs that fit with the league's model.

United Premier Soccer League President Leonel Lopez said, "We are excited that Andres Pena has accepted the position of Utah Conference Manager. Andres is very passionate about the game, and Utah's role with the UPSL. He has a proven track record as a player and coach, and we feel he'll be a natural fit to help manage and grow the UPSL's Utah Conference as it continues to expand with quality Pro Development teams that are embracing the UPSL's Pro/Rel Model."

Pena, 32, is owner of Utah Saints FC (UPSL) and a local business owner and entrepreneur, also operating popular Best Bedzzz in Woods Cross, Utah.

Pena is a native of Ecuador and was selected to Ecuador's Under-17 National Team in 1996 before moving to Utah as a teen with family. He went on to win a Utah High School state title as the starting goalkeeper for Woods Cross HS, and later a Utah state association amateur title for Salt Lake City-based Olympique Montreux FC.

"The level of soccer here in the State of Utah is actually very high and there are a lot of great players," Pena said. "There is a lot of excitement among the players to be a part of something bigger and more challenging. There is a definite need to give players more opportunities to pursue soccer careers."

United Premier Soccer League

The UPSL was formed in 2011 and currently includes more than 125 teams in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin. UPSL is the fastest growing Pro Development League in the USA, with 125-plus teams targeted for 2018 Spring Season. Each UPSL team is individually owned and operated, and is responsible for maintaining either UPSL Pro Premier Division or Championship Division minimum standards.

UPSL teams are all eligible to participate in the U.S. Open Cup Qualifying Rounds through the leagues affiliation with the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
