United Premier Soccer League Announces Redding Royals FC as Wild West Conference Expansion Team
Redding (Calif.)-Based Pro Development Team Joins UPSL for 2018 Season

Based in Redding (Calif.), Redding Royals FC will begin UPSL play in the Wild West Conference.
United Premier Soccer League Commissioner Yan Skwara said, "We're very pleased to welcome the addition of Redding Royals FC as a new member in our newly-renamed Wild West Conference. This is a club that has high aspirations and ownership that wants to work hard in its community and develop the players of tomorrow. We wish Owner Daniel Bietz the best of success as he and his team prepares Redding Royals FC for kick off in 2018."
Redding Royals FC is operated by Daniel Bietz, a USSF 'Tier 1' Referee certified for Pro Development and NCAA matches. The club previously played in the Pacific Premier League.
Owner of Bietz Fitness and Massage in Redding, Calif., Bietz, 33, also is a certified massage therapist specializing in personalized fitness training and massage therapy since 2006. He graduated from Fort Bragg (Calif.) High School before earning a BS in Kinesiology from Santa Barbara (Calif.)'s Westmont College.

Joshua Cogar, a Redding-based Business Consultant, will serve as the team's new Head Coach. Cogar, 41, played three seasons for Newberg (Ore.)'s George Fox University (NCAA) men's soccer team.
Redding Royals FC Head Coach Joshua Cogar said, "It will be interesting to see how things change and how we progress and build off the success we had last season. We are excited to play in the UPSL, and we're really looking to do well and be competitive."
Michaela Carrera, 30, holds a BS in International Studies from Pepperdine University and will serve as Club Manager. Catlin Osborne, D.C. of New Life Chiropractic in Redding, Calif., is the Team Doctor.
The team is sponsored by Dr. Thomas J. Andrews, MD of Redding.
The club is finalizing its venue options in compliance with the UPSL's Minimum Standards. The team will host tryout on Saturday, Jan. 6, and Sunday, Jan. 14. Go to the team's website for more information and to register.

Redding Royals FC is an American Soccer club currently based in Redding, Calif., and a new member of the United Premier Soccer League. Redding Royals FC will begin play in the UPSL's Pro Premier Division.
Founded in 2016, Redding Royals FC can participate in the qualifying rounds for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup through their affiliation and membership with the UPSL, the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).

UPSL teams are all eligible to participate in the U.S. Open Cup Qualifying Rounds through the leagues affiliation with the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
