Follow on Google News | Chill out in the Long Beach Island Region This WinterSouthern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center is open all year, and invites everyone to get frosty with special events that showcase the beauty of winter in the Long Beach Island Region of New Jersey.
By: Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce Beginning with the Long Beach Island Foundation of Arts & Sciences and their DEEP FREEZE FEST taking place January 26 from 7-10pm. This fun, Friday Night out transforms the LBIF gallery into a cozy winter wonderland with live music, a German-style pretzel bar, fire pits & s'mores, snacks, plus cold brews! This community fundraiser will benefit the LBI Foundation to help maintain year round programming for the arts & sciences. The more the merrier with FREE Admission! Beer wristbands & snacks will be available for purchase at the door. $20 Beer Wristbands will be available for purchase at the door ONLY. (Must be 21+ to purchase wrist band, please be prepared with ID). Guests may leave their cars in our parking lot overnight, not to encourage drinking and driving. http://lbifoundation.org/ Feb 3 Polar Paddle 11am 5pm South End Surf and Alliance for Living Ocean, remind us that just because winter has rolled around doesn't mean you can't still enjoy the Barnegat Bay. Grab your wetsuits and booties, a wool cap and join us for a winter paddle race in our frigid (hopefully not frozen) waters. Pre-registration is available online and race packet pick up will be available before start of race. Registration will be at South End Surf N Paddle, a Southern Ocean Made Accredited Business and part of the Surf and Sip Brew Trail located at 220 S Bay Ave, Beach Haven, NJ beginning at 11AM. Race start is at Noon one block over from the shop, just a short walk away. There is plenty of free parking at both at the shop and at the race start location. Join the crew back at South End Surf N Paddle for the potluck after party, where you will find food, drinks and awards and prizes. Keeping the focus on simple pleasures that tie in with Valentine's Day and mid winter escapes, the Southern Ocean County Chamber coordinates local businesses and organizations to extend special promotions, offers and classes that are being to create a sweet vibe throughout the Long Beach Island Region of the Jersey Shore from Barnegat, Long Beach Island, Stafford and Tuckerton and Little Egg Harbor.
