CALL FOR ACTORS - Phoenix Art Museum February 10&11

PHOENIX - Dec. 12, 2017 - PRLog -- Director, Jeanmarie (Simpson) Bishop, is interviewing actors for a new short play to be performed at the Phoenix Art Museum on the 10th and 11th of February 2018.

"The play, Mother and Son; Father and Daughter by Grace Jasmine, is a response to the installation piece, Mass (Colder Darker Matter), part of the permanent collection of the Phoenix Art Museum," Bishop said. "Mass is comprised of bits of charred wood that were once a baptist church. The building was destroyed by fire caused by lightning. Talk about an act of God," Bishop continued.

According to the museum's website: "Proposing that matter is never destroyed, but merely transformed, Cornelia Parker challenges the way we experience destruction. Mass (Colder Darker Matter) is made from the charred remains of a Texas Baptist church that was struck by lightning. This title, in part, refers to the scientific term "cold dark matter," used to describe the unquantifiable and mythic presence in the universe. "Mass" suggests not only a spiritual gathering, but also the solids and voids that are basic elements of sculpture. This work can also be seen as a charcoal drawing, or an abstract painting against a white background."

Mother and Son; Father and Daughter is a four-character play that features two female and two male "relatively bilingual Latinx actors," according to director Bishop:
