Pet adoption trees at Brandon Honda and Sun Toyota promote holiday pet adoptions

TAMPA, Fla. - Dec. 12, 2017 - PRLog -- There is a new twist on traditional Christmas tree decorations this year at Brandon Honda and Sun Toyota auto dealerships to help families adopt rescue pets over the holidays. Trees have been decorated with handmade ornaments that feature many of the adoptable rescue dogs, cats, rabbits and other domestic animals at FishHawk TNR, Inc. and St. Francis Society Animal Rescue. The trees and ornaments are on display now until January 1.

The Brandon Honda pet adoption tree features rescue animals from FishHawk TNR, Inc. and the Sun Toyota tree features rescue animals from St. Francis Society Animal Rescue. Both are registered, non-kill rescue animal nonprofit organizations that often work together to serve the Tampa Bay area. The trees have photos of more than 150 adoptable pets and include how to meet and get more information about each one.

"We're an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization that relies 100% on donations to care for pets through a network of foster homes," said Ali Dunstan, founder of FishHawk TNR and an employee at Brandon Honda who suggested the adoption tree concept. "The tree ornaments are a great way to provide information about our adorable, adoptable animals that are hoping to find new, forever homes just in time for the holidays."

"The two rescue organizations we are supporting with this project are currently caring for more than 400 adoptable animals," said John Marazzi of the Morgan Auto Group who has himself adopted many dogs over the years. "Their facilities are full and the need is great, as more abandoned and homeless pets arrive every day. We are asking Tampa Bay residents to open their hearts and make a permanent or foster home available to save these animals or donate to help the organizations. All the animals get vaccinated, spayed/neutered and microchipped before adoption. All have been evaluated for medical issues and behavioral needs. Dogs are wormed and are current on Heartgard® treatments, while cats have been tested for leukemia/FIV.

The trees were graciously decorated by Cynthia Rock of CWhimsey, a long-time volunteer at FishHawk TNR who owns a home décor and wreath business.
