Owner Ulises Ornelas is a Joliet-first soccer star, and we love local ownership stepping up and demanding the UPSL's Pro/Rel Model. We wish Ulises the best as he prepares Joliet United SC for kick off in 2018." Joliet United SC is owned and operated by Joliet native Ulises Ornelas, 26, an NAIA All-American Scholar Athlete and two-year captain of the Joliet (Ill.) University of St. Francis men's soccer team. Ornelas, who started Joliet United SC as a youth academy in 2013, will serve as the team's General Manager. Joliet United Soccer Club General Manager Ulises Ornelas said, "We wanted to do something new in terms of representing the City of Joliet and its surroundings. We know we can compete at a high level so we said, 'Hey, if we modernize this thing we can represent Joliet in the UPSL, this great league up-and-coming league,' and with the support of my family and close friends this is possible." Ornelas was a four-year varsity player and an all-conference and all-section player at Joliet (Ill.) West High School before matriculating to St. Francis University, where he earned a BA in History and will graduate soon with an MBA in Business Management. "We want to represent the city, the area and compete, just compete," Ornelas said. "We have ambition, and there are good players around here who definitely want this opportunity.
