Future Green Leaders Compete for Durham Regional Envirothon Title

OSHAWA, Ontario - Dec. 15, 2017 - PRLog -- As 2017 comes to an end Durham Sustain Ability and the 2018 Envirothon Planning Committee are gearing up to host the 12th annual Durham Region Envirothon. Join in the excitement as teams of high school students from the Durham area complete for the title of Durham Envirothon Champions at Camp Samac on May 10th 2018.

Participating students will face a series of challenging hands-on, environmental science tests focused on forestry, wildlife, soils and aquatics. In addition to raising awareness of the needs of Ontario's forests, Envirothon encourages critical thinking, problem solving, teamwork, and communication skills among participants. The Durham Envirothon is part of a larger program that reaches over 5,000 students and educators annually across the province. From May 28th to 30th 2018 the top placing teams from across Ontario will compete for the opportunity to become the Ontario Envirothon Champions at University of Waterloo.
