Welch Packaging Manufactures Bins for the Toys for Tots Foundation Utilizing Special Board Grades
By: Welch Packaging
Welch Preferred board grades are designed to be cost effective alternatives to traditional board grades. Welch Preferred grades place an emphasis on lessening material while retaining or exceeding the strength of a traditional board grades thus making a lighter and stronger box. Welch Preferred grades come in single-wall and double-wall variations to compete with 23 ECT, 26 ECT, 29 ECT, 44 ECT and 55 ECT.
Welch Packaging has donated time and material to manufacture collection bins for the Toys for Tots Foundation for nearly 20 years. In past years, all the corrugated board had to be purchased from an outside supplier. The 2017 campaign is the first year in which Welch Packaging manufactured the board for the collection bins at its Elkhart, IN plant.
Welch Packaging chose to use a Welch Preferred board grade over a traditional B/C double wall. WP242 is Welch Packaging's version of a traditional B/C double wall container but is a more economical solution. WP242 has allowed Welch Packaging to maximize their donation effectiveness while retaining the corrugated bin strength which the Toys for Tots Foundation has come to know and rely on.
