Keller Williams agents take top leadership positions in 2018
Renee Mello and Maggie Barr of Keller Williams Santa Cruz take industry-leading roles at the Santa Cruz Association of Realtors, and the Women's Council of Realtors.
"We are honored to have two elected industries leaders within our local office," says Elaine Della-Santina, Team Leader at Keller Williams Santa Cruz. "We have always strived to encourage our agents to participate pro-actively in the local and state organizations that advance the needs of both clients and REALTORS." Renee Mello has been in real estate over 3 decades. She has held several leadership positions within Keller Williams, her true passion lies in teaching, training and coaching within the real estate industry. Renee can often be found conducting trainings at the Santa Cruz Association of Realtors (SCCAR) in Aptos, CA or at Keller Williams Realty in Santa Cruz, or sharing her insights as a Certified John Maxwell coach. Renee's vision as SCCAR 2018 President is to connect opportunity and responsibility. She says "with opportunity comes responsibly. As a member of the Real Estate community we have the opportunity to achieve unlimited success. There is also a responsibility to the industry, consumers and our communities we serve".
Maggie Barr has been on the board, or chaired a committee at the Women's Council of REALTORS for the last four years. She also currently serves on the Santa Cruz County Women's Commission, and is on the board of the Valley Women's Club of the San Lorenzo Valley (VWC). The VWC is a civic organization focused on preserving the natural beauty and environmental needs of the Santa Cruz Mountains.
"At a National level, the Women's Council of REALTORS is changing our event strategy for 2018," says Maggie. "We're no longer focusing simply on agent training. We'll be holding 4 large industry events next year on topics like County regulation changes, real estate investing, and the changing tax implications of home ownership." The quarterly events will be opened to the general public. Members of the Women's Council will be encouraged to invite their clients and business partners.
The Women's Council of REALTORS' installation event will be held Wednesday, December 13th at the Inn at Pasatiempo from 11:30-2pm. Sherri Souza, National President of the Women's Council of REALTORS will be the keynote speaker. For tickets visit http://tiny.cc/
