Fracking Expert, Author to speak at Harrisburg University

HARRISBURG, Pa. - Dec. 4, 2017 - PRLog -- Fracking expert and author Daniel Raimi will visit Harrisburg University of Science and Technology on March 2 to give a presentation on the issues and opportunities related to the fracking industry and oil and gas development across the U.S.

The free event, presented by the Center for Environment, Energy, and Economy at HU, is part of a tour in support of Raimi's new book, "The Fracking Debate," a synthesis of scientific research and stories Raimi compiled while studying the nation's growing oil and gas production industry.

From 2013 to 2016, Raimi traveled to every major oil and gas producing region across the U.S. to investigate the local impacts of increased domestic oil and gas production. Along the way, he met hundreds of people and gathered dozens of stories from the oilfield," according to "The Fracking Debate" website (www.thefrackingdebate.com).

"The Fracking Debate" combines these stories with an in-depth look at the most commonly asked questions related to fracking and oil and gas development more broadly. The book features answers for anyone who is interested in the big questions pertaining to the shale revolution.

Raimi, a senior research associate at Resources for the Future, who also teaches energy policy at the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy at the University of Michigan, and is a faculty affiliate with the University of Michigan Energy Institute, will speak in Harrisburg University's 14th floor auditorium.  The event will begin at 11:30 a.m. with networking and lunch.  Presentation will begin at noon.

To attend the discussion, RSVP to HarrisburgU.edu/RSVP.
