N-linked glycosylation occurs on Asparagine residues, while O-linked glycosylation takes place on serine and/or threonine residues. More than 50% of proteins undergo glycosylation during co- or post- translational processes. O-GlcNAc glycosylated proteins are implicated in normal brain functions, neurodegeneration, and type II diabetes, GalNAc-(Ser/Thr) is part of the Tn-antigen, an oncofetal antigen, overexpressed in cancerous conditions and cell-surface sialylated proteins found in tumors are associated with tumor invasion. BioVision is proud to offer three novel, yet highly specific EZClick™ Assay Kits detecting glycosylated proteins having Sialic Acid, O-GlcNAc, and/or GalNAc moieties.
