Aspire Orthodontics Announces First Free Braces Winner

CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Nov. 30, 2017 - PRLog -- The Aspire Orthodontics staff surprised their first 'Smile It Forward' Free Braces winner on November 15th.

Amelia Shevchuk, was in class at Cleveland High School when she received the surprise of a lifetime, free orthodontic treatment. The Aspire Orthodontics team and a crew from local radio station WCLE awarded her with balloons and a giant check. Amelia accepted her award with tears in her eyes, grateful for the opportunity to get braces free of charge from the same orthodontic practice that once treated her mother as a child.

"I definitely think we gave her quite a shock. She wasn't expecting this at all which makes it that much more fun," said Jessica Harris, Marketing Manager of Aspire Orthodontics.

Dr. Michael Weathersby and his team at Aspire Orthodontics launched the 'Smile It Forward' program in September as a community service initiative to provide free braces to deserving students in the area.

"It's such a great feeling to be able to give someone the gift of a smile, especially someone as deserving as Amelia. Amelia is a freshman this year. I hope her new smile will give her the confidence she needs to pursue all of her life dreams," explained Dr. Weathersby.

Amelia submitted an entry into the contest in early November stating that braces would help boost her self-esteem.  She said it would be a "dream come true" to get braces.  Aspire Orthodontics chose Amelia as the Smile It Forward winner because of her heartfelt entry conveying her desire to smile more confidently in high school, as well as for her commitment and involvement in the Cleveland community. Amelia participates in soccer, track and is a member of the Art Club at Cleveland High School. Amelia is also dedicated to assisting the Cleveland community through donating clothes, toys and delivering meals to families that need them, in addition to being an active member of her church.
