brawl for a cause announces first ever boxing event at mercedes-benz stadium

ATLANTA, GA NOVEMBER 28, 2017

Charity boxing event, Brawl for a Cause is announcing its new venue at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The event will be held on Saturday, February 17 from 7-11 PM and includes 15 boxing bouts featuring 30 amateur boxers fighting for a cause they believe in with the goal of raising funds and awareness for a variety of nonprofits in the community.

Brawl for a Cause was founded in 2012 by Matt Thomas, an Atlanta native, as a campus fundraiser titled "Bulldawg Brawl" which targets the Greek community at The University of Georgia. The organization followed Thomas after graduation, allowing him to lay the foundation for Buckhead Brawl and recruit lawyers, bankers, CEOs, local celebrities and other young professionals around Atlanta with the following mission statement:

         "Our mission is to train, equip and inspire everyday heroes to stand up and fight for    the change they wish to see in the world," Thomas, founder of Brawl for a Cause.

An incredible opportunity presented itself in October 2017 when RIISE Ventures partnered with Brawl for a Cause to host the first boxing event in the city's new Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Founder M. Cole Jones said RIISE was looking for "a company that leverages sports and entertainment to create unique experiences and entrepreneurial opportunities…and Brawl for a Cause will be just that."

The 2018 Buckhead Brawl will include Eddie Capel, CEO of Manhattan Associates who is fighting for Camp Hope. Capel is 5'9, 170 pounds and boxed as a teenage in England. Radio co-host Brian Moote will also be fighting, benefitting Bert's Big Aventure, on behalf of The Bert Show. Moote is 6'3, 215 pounds and has been boxing recreationally for three years. More contestants will be announced soon.

Thomas and the Brawl for a Cause team are confident the 2018 tournament at Mercedes-Benz Stadium will be their biggest and best event yet. In addition to boxing, the Brawl is a black-tie casino night with an open bar, live entertainment and plenty of surprises in store. Sponsorships and participants are still being accepted.
