Welcome to the Belenos 1783 by Andreas Pichler

Globally acclaimed artist and craftsman Andreas Pichler launches his newest creation…The Belenos 1783

KLAGENFURT, Austria - Nov. 27, 2017 - PRLog -- Descending from five generations of Austrian woodcarvers and master craftsmen, Andreas Pichler's passion for design and creativity flows deeply through his veins.

At the age of four, Andreas began to learn woodcarving at his father's side in the family shop located in the medieval town of Doellach in the Austrian Alps.

Before long, Andreas was recognized as one of the true masters of the ancient Austrian woodcarving tradition known as Krampus.

Aspirations and curiosity led him from woodcarving to sculpture and on to numerous fields of design including graphic, sound and industrial.

Arriving as a young man in Los Angeles, Andreas' musical interests guided him in the creation of custom guitars for artists such as Prince, Slash, Sting, Earth wind and Fire, Whitney Houston, P!nk and many more in addition to custom amplifiers for brands such as Bogner and Boutique Amps.

From sound and industrial design, Andreas turned his inspiration toward his lifelong participation in Austria's national pastime, alpine skiing. In this endeavor, Andreas began with a simple, functional ski and elevated it into the world's most luxurious, high-performance and bespoke offering: the Foil "Oro Nero"…a design that features 8,000 year old Bog Oak topsheet combined with 14k gold plated bindings and poles.

Andreas extended that same passion for elevating classic designs into the area of home furnishings where, after years of research, experimentation and innovation, Andreas formulated a new method for texturizing and finishing surfaces, which he launched several years ago through his functional art series "77 Selection" and "77 Andreas"  (www.andreas77.com).

Drawing from an innate reservoir of technique, experience and creativity, Andreas has now turned his focus to the Belenos 1783…a handcrafted homage to the finest Austrian woodworking traditions.

At first glance the Belenos 1783  (www.belenos1783.com) appears to be a traditional European workbench, but it is actually designed by Andreas with the idea of being a multi-use "conversation piece" for any bar, restaurant, store, office or home.

Produced by Andreas using an exact model that has been in his family for over one hundred and fifty years, each Belenos 1783 requires approximately 80 man hours to create and features the use of his proprietary finishing techniques that give the Belenos a look that is both rustic yet warm, vintage yet modern.

Detailing includes beautiful dovetail joints, a front clamp with polished aluminum holdfast rods, a side spindle with hand-stitched leather grip, a sliding drawer accessible from both sides and a recessed channel for decorative items or accessories.

Each Belenos 1783 features a unique artist identification seal and can be custom ordered to a client's specifications. Shipment can be arranged to any part of the globe. Delivery time is approximately 2-3 weeks after firm order.

The Belenos 1783 is the first offering in the Belenos Collection which will subsequently feature bespoke stools, chairs and accessories.
