Christ Church Vero Beach Offers a Christmas Festival Saturday Dec. 9 as a Gift to the Community

VERO BEACH, Fla. - Nov. 27, 2017 - PRLog -- Christ Church will offer their Christmas gift to the community on Dec. 9 from 4 to 7 p.m. with a family-focused outdoor Christmas Festival on the grounds in front of the church, centrally located near the Miracle Mile at State Road 60 and 6^th Ave.

A dozen large live oaks and palm trees in front of the church will be decorated with thousands of LED lights and at 6 p.m., a switch will be thrown to illuminate the grounds and the Nativity scene. "We believe this will be a truly gorgeous and festive event that kids of all ages and adults will enjoy and remember," says Debra Gordon, Director of Children's and Family Ministries for Christ Church.

Live Nativity Will Feature a Donkey, Cow and Two Sheep

Kids will love seeing the life-size Nativity scene surrounded by live actors and farm animals set-up directly in front of the church. In addition to taking part in games and making Christmas ornaments, kids can go down an inflatable slide and ride in a Christmas sleigh.

Santa will be on hand, giving out free treats and food tables will offer free delicious Christmas season treats like cotton candy, popcorn, snow cones, hot pretzels, hot dogs, cookies, hot cider and cocoa.  Strolling carolers will fill the air with familiar Christmas songs.

"This is a 'community goodwill' event and not intended to be a membership drive or fundraiser," noted Gordon. "This is the first Christmas at our new location and we hope to make it an annual event to give to the community," she continued.

"We invite everyone in the Vero Beach and surrounding communities to this exciting event to start the Christmas season," said Bishop John Miller, Christ Church Rector and Pastor.  "Christmas is a very special time when we celebrate the birth of Jesus and we want to pass along our joy to the people of Vero Beach."
