By: Change, A New Christmas Carol This Christmas, comedy, musical is an original playwright that features an animated cast, humor, and enchanting musical performances, that is sure to capture the true spirit of Christmas. It is good for all ages. "We didn't want to do the traditional Christmas play, so we decided to write something ourselves," says Robin Smith, music director. "Holidays can be a difficult time for so many, so we created a story where people would leave our show feeling uplifted." "My wife and I have attended 'Change' every year since it began in 2008," says Pennsylvania State Senator Mario Scavello. "It is one show we both enjoy seeing...it gives a powerful Christmas message." The story unfolds in the fictional town of Stroudsville, with everyone caught up in the craziness of the holidays, Claire, the neurotic owner of Starcups, prays and hopes the townspeople will see the true meaning of Christmas. She is pleasantly surprised when the quarter, Change, played by actor and director, Kimberly Smith, magically comes to life and pays the town an unexpected visit to bring "change" to everyone in Stroudsville- "Change, A New Christmas Carol" features the cast of Kimberly Smith as "Change," Katie Ord as "Von Villain", Robin Smith as "Claire," Kate Smith as "Mariska Von Krimshka", and Casey Smith as "Mel." All five have been in it since the beginning and also returning is the "Stroudsville Mayor", performed by Deanna Badik, "Sheriff," performed by Caleb Dean, and "Paperboy,' performed by Lauren Matrisciano. Cartesion Dance Academy joins the cast on stage throughout the musical. "Change" is truly like bringing "Broadway to the Poconos," says Robin Smith. To purchase tickets visit www.shermantheater.com .
